we invite all humans...
Held during Pride month in different cities around the world, The Rainbow Mile is a world-first event that combines the LGBTQIA+ and sporting communities.
Run, walk, skip, or dance your way through the mile… celebrate however you would like! Following our mass participation event, watch and cheer twenty of the world’s best 1-mile runners in our elite field and see who will be crowned ‘The Rainbow Mile Champion’!
Our mission is to celebrate the unique existence of every individual as a collective group and amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ people through sport. All profits from The Rainbow Mile events return to the local LGBTQIA+ communities.
why a mile?
A single mile. 1,609 meters. 5,280 feet.
The mile is accessible to people of all abilities. For the vast majority of the 10,000 strong participants, The Rainbow Mile is more about making memories and having fun than worrying about your mile time!
This is your time to shine and show your PRIDE!
Whether you are an elite miler seeking to become the inaugural Rainbow Mile champion or you are just here for the party, The Rainbow Mile promises to be an experience like no other in mass participation events. DJ’s, entertainment, cheering crowds and heart-pumping excitement will make this the greatest mile of your life.

diversity & inclusion
every human should feel included and celebrated.
Our goal is for every human to feel included and celebrated in every detail of the event experience. From accessibility to gender-diverse and gender non-conforming people, below are a few ways The Rainbow Mile will be an event where all people will be actively embraced.
GENDER CATEGORIES
Words are important, and we believe our registration category options should reflect every single person in our community. We will provide all participants the choice of over seven different gender categories when registering, including those outside the gender binary.
LGBTQIA+ CORRALS
WHEELCHAIR CATEGORY
To honor the history of the Pride movement, we will highlight beloved LGBTQIA+ community groups by giving each their own start line corral which will be included in the live broadcast. For these groups, the one-mile course is not just a race but an opportunity to celebrate and share who they are.
The Rainbow Mile will allow athletes in the wheelchair category to compete in their own corral or wave start and be highlighted as part of the international broadcast.
elite field
The Rainbow Mile will attract the best one-mile runners from around the globe.
Following the mass-participation event, twenty of the world's best women and men runners along with the best wheelchair athletes will compete in the richest one-mile road race in history.
The world-class field will be selected by our elite Race Directors, Deena and Andrew Kastor, guaranteeing that The Rainbow Mile be a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, and much more.
The prize money will be double that of the next richest 1-mile road race
in the world.
the rainbow alliance
all profits from the event will return to local LGBTQIA+ community organisations.
The Rainbow Alliance is the non-profit arm of The Rainbow Mile and offers a revenue share for the local LGBTQIA+ Community in each city The Rainbow Mile is held.
Beneficiaries of the profits will be chosen by local community leaders with all profits to be distributed through The Rainbow Alliance.
The Rainbow Alliance acts as the central point for fundraising and will facilitate all profit-sharing within local communities for events within The Rainbow Mile’s global series.
In Brighton, all profits will be distributed through Brighton & Hove Pride's affiliated non-profit, The Rainbow Fund.
